Recently we planned a trip to Myrtle Beach, SC because my husband was interested in a participating in a Car show there.

He has a 1969 Mustang that he is particularly fold of.    I thought it was a great idea, because there is a lot to do there if the “women folk” get tired of walking around looking at cars, we can shop, see some shows, etc.

The car show was called “run to the sun” at Myrtle Beach and had approx.. 3100 cars there.  Needless to say it would take days, to see that many cars, but luckily the weather was beautiful and the cars were as equally impressive.  Car vendors, food, people watching and did I mention – Johnny Cash was there?  Yes he was.  Impressed…right?

Friday night we decided to go to the boardwalk at Myrtle Beach.  Our group walked along the boardwalk which runs beside the ocean and it was gorgeous.  The wind, waves, water and sunshine, it made you think about how magnificent our God is that he created all this JUST FOR US…..and in 7 days too!!

At the end of our walk, we were a little chilly so we found this little tiny coffee house next to “The Bowery” on the boardwalk. We decided we needed a little coffee to get warmed up.

When we walked into the coffee shop, we had an Elvis encounter.  He had come to perform outside on the boardwalk and was dressed in a White jumpsuit with a tiger embossed on the front and Back. Very impressive as he was also a really nice guy to talk to.  YES..We got to meet Elvis.

While we were ordering in that tiny coffee shop, (that had some amazing Christian music playing) I happened to notice a chalk sign just above the pasties in the case.

It said “ God Forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases” Psalms 103:3.  I have a very dear friend that was with me on our trip and she has been going thru some health issues the last several years and she noticed the sign too.  This definitely was sign for us that our trip was amazing because God was telling us at that point in time, he was in charge.

We finished our coffee and went back to the hotel for the night.

The next day we went to the Alligator adventure park and petted alligators, saw tigers and had a great time.  That night we ventured to the “Captains Table” for seafood.  I tried Shrimp and grits for the first time and it was fantastic.

All in all, the trip was great.  Where else can you meet Johnny Cash, Elvis, Pet an Alligator, see 3100 classic cars and get a sign from God all on the same trip?!

The best things in life are the people you love that are with you, the places you have seen, and the memories you make along the way.

On our trip…. there was definitely JOY in the journey.
