Take Me Out To The Ball Game!

Hey Travelers!

Bekah Grace here, sorry that I didn't put up this post until today, but it is kind of hard when you want to write about a baseball game and you don't get to go to the game until Thursday.

So, as you just read, I went to a ball game on Wednesday.  It was when the Kannapolis Intimidators versus the Rome Braves.  Sadly, the Kannapolis Intimidators lost, but that didn't mean that you are not able to have a good time.

Let me set the setting for you: The weather is perfect baseball weather.  It is Thursday, meaning that it is Thirsty Thursday.  (Disclaimer: If you are below 21 you are not allowed to have alcohol.  They check your ID and everything.)

For those of you that don't know, Kannapolis Intimidators are a Minor League Baseball Team.  They have their home stadiums in Kannapolis, North Carolina.  Their huge sponsor is (and because they have named the stadium after this place) the Charlotte Mecklenburg Center - Northeast Hospital.

When the summer gets warmer, they do different fun events.  Some times they do fireworks, but last night they did Trivia Night.  Since I didn't find out until after they game started that it was Trivia Night, I didn't get to participate, but it's all good.  It's not like I knew any of the answers anyways.

While you are thinking of what to do over the summer, I highly encourage you to go to some kind of game, baseball, softball, etc.  Just go out and have fun.

Until next time travelers, have fun and stay safe.

Virginia Creeper Trail - Damascus, VA!

Yesterday, I went with my boyfriends' family on a 18 mile bike trail.  This trail is very long, but so beautiful that it's not funny.  This blog is mostly just going to be pictures from the trip, but I think that you are going to enjoy it!

Damascus, VA is a little tourist town that was built around a train trail that was turned into a bike trail.  People that volunteered at Damascus said that the last train ran through there in the year 1977, and became a bike trail by 1978.  This bike trail is not bumpy, but keep in mind that this is a very long time to be riding on a bike seat.  I promise you will be walking weird for a while.

This is the view from the Inn.

This is the description from how to Green Cove Train Station was in the old days.

This is the Green Cove today!  It has somethings added to it, but there is a museum and store inside of this train station and if you go in and read the descriptions, they show you how it was in the old days.  This was also the post office.

There was also a play ground right on the other side of the Green Cove, where we took a lot of pictures.  See all below.

Now, I will tell you that you could have a possibility of getting hurt, I hope that you do not, but it is always good to have a First Aid Kit on hand when you decide to go to the Virginia Creeper Trail.

Thanks to Ashley Everidge for taking this photo.

There are many fun things that you can do other than watch the trail and river that passes by the trail.  You can climb.  Once again, please only do this if you are a good climber and wont get hurt.

Thanks to Ashley Everidge for taking this photo.

This was our photo after his mom, Lois, and I finished doctoring him up.

This is the crew (minus two people) that went with us.

This place has a lot of cute places where you can take cute couple photos.

This is the family that pulled this amazing day together! Thank you Everidge Family!! :)

Have I mentioned that this place has beautiful scenery??!

Another great family shot!
Please be careful! I was coming off of a bridge and ran into James' bike.  Nothing but a couple of scratches but I do want people to have fun and not get hurt.  The bridge is below that I fell after getting off of it.

This is one of the many bridges that you will go over.  These bridges are numbered.  When we started there was 45, when we were done, the number we last crossed was number 21.

We also stopped to see the Kayaker's doing their lovely hobby on this sunny bright day!

North Carolina HERE WE COME!

This trip was awesome, and I would recommend it to everyone!  We got to the beginning of the trial at 10:30a.m. and we got back to the truck and started heading down the road at 5:00p.m.  So, this is an all day event.  There is a cafe about half way down the mountain that you can go get food.  This food is so good.  They serve hamburgers, hot dogs  etc.

I hope that you have enjoyed this post, and comment below for me to try new simply fun outings.

Until next time travelers, have fun and be safe!

A Lovely Day at the Park!

Hey Everyone! I hope that you are having an awesome day like I am, and if not, hopefully after you read this blog, you will have a smile on your face!

Today in Salisbury, NC, the weather is 81 degrees.  Everyone I see is walking around in shorts and t-shirts, and they all have smiles on their faces.  I don't know what it is about warm weather, but it always tend to make everyone happy.

Since the weather was so nice outside, I decided at the spur of the moment to plan a fun day at the park.

We decided to go to the Salisbury Parks and Recreation Park in Salisbury, NC.  Once we were there we decided to go to the lake that they have there.

We walked across the bridge and decided to eat string cheese,

frozen grapes, and water as a snack.  Normally, I'm not the type of person that is willing to try new food, but frozen grapes are AWESOME!!! Take some grapes from the stem, wash them, and then put them in the freezer and they will be good to go in 3 hours.

Then we walked back across the bridge, out of the shade, and we started playing Frisbee and we were all having a blast.

After we finished playing Frisbee, we sat by the lake for about 5 minutes and then walked back to the car.

Today's Lesson that I have Learned: Try something different (like frozen grapes), you never know what good things you will find.  Live life!

If there is something that you want to add to this blog, write a comment below.

Until next time travelers, be safe and have fun!

Something Sweet on that Hot Day!

Hey Everybody!

I hope that you all have had a wonderful Easter Break from not only work, school, or whatever you truly needed a break from.

Since it's April 3rd, and here in North Carolina the weather is getting warmer, I thought about doing a cooler treat for you all!

Today, the weather was roughly 70 degrees, and me and James (my boyfriend), decided to treat ourselves to the best dessert that you could treat yourselves to this time of year.  Can you guess what it is we treat ourselves to?  If you guessed ICE CREAM, you were right!!!

We went to Coldstone.  Have you ever been there?

My favorite ice cream from Coldstone is "Apple Pie A La Coldstone" inside of a waffle bowl.  This is just what you think that it is.  Vanilla Ice Cream, Graham Cracker crumbs, Caramel syrup, actual Apple pieces.  What they do is so cool!

They get the ice cream from the freezer that is in front of you and puts it on their "cold stone" that is in front of you.  Then the one that I go to, puts the caramel syrup on top of the ice cream in a figure 8 symbol.  Next, they take a scoop of Graham Cracker crumbs and a scoop of the apples.  Then, they take two of the ice cream scoops and chop up all of the ingredients inside of the ice cream.  Finally, before handing it to me, they get a waffle bowl out of the warmer, and puts the mixed ice cream in the warm bowl.

This is so good!  Imagine a warm apple pie just baked from the oven, covered in homemade vanilla ice cream, like it was made in the good 'ol days.

I think that you should really try this place!  It's a fun experience and if you would like to try something before you buy it, they will let you taste test it before you choose what you want.

They also have what they call ICE CREAM CAKES! It is exactly what it sounds like,  cake and ice cream in a cake form!

Until next time travelers, have fun and stay safe!

Movie Night In?? Why Not!!!!

Hey everybody! I know that my blog is called Simply Fun OUTINGS, but I thought tonight, why not do a night in?  I'm sure that you all have had those days when you wanted to go out, but didn't want to take a shower, fix your hair, put your make up on, get dress and then have to drive out to have a fun night.

Well, this past weekend I had one of those nights.  I decided that I would put on some of my pj's and pop in a chick flick! The chick flick that I decided to watch was a throw back, some of you may not remember it.  I remember going to the movies for my 12th birthday to watch this movie.  Can anyone guess what that movie is?  It's A Cinderella Story! With the one and the only Chad Michael Murray.  I use to have one of the hugest crushes on him, until he left me in One Tree Hill.

I know that I have some of you people out there that know what I am talking about.  One Tree Hill was the best show that The WB had ever put on air!  And sadly, every Christmas, my family makes a pact to watch all 9 seasons straight!  We love One Tree Hill!

Now, back to A Cinderella Story.  For the ones of you who haven't saw this movie, I think that you need to go on Amazon or Ebay and buy it ASAP!  This is one of the best chick flick's that I have ever seen.

I popped a bag of popcorn, grabbed a drink out of my refrigerator and I went and put the movie in.

I wish that I could say what my favorite part is, but I have TWO!

One of my favorite parts is when Hilary Duff (Sam) and Chad Michael Murray (Austin Ames) are at the masquerade dance. Check it out below:

The song that the string band is playing is I'll Be by Edwin McCain.  Great song!

The other part, is when Sam confronts Austin Check it out below:

I hope that you have enjoyed this blog and until next time, have fun and safe travels!
