Take Me Out To The Ball Game!

Hey Travelers!

Bekah Grace here, sorry that I didn't put up this post until today, but it is kind of hard when you want to write about a baseball game and you don't get to go to the game until Thursday.

So, as you just read, I went to a ball game on Wednesday.  It was when the Kannapolis Intimidators versus the Rome Braves.  Sadly, the Kannapolis Intimidators lost, but that didn't mean that you are not able to have a good time.

Let me set the setting for you: The weather is perfect baseball weather.  It is Thursday, meaning that it is Thirsty Thursday.  (Disclaimer: If you are below 21 you are not allowed to have alcohol.  They check your ID and everything.)

For those of you that don't know, Kannapolis Intimidators are a Minor League Baseball Team.  They have their home stadiums in Kannapolis, North Carolina.  Their huge sponsor is (and because they have named the stadium after this place) the Charlotte Mecklenburg Center - Northeast Hospital.

When the summer gets warmer, they do different fun events.  Some times they do fireworks, but last night they did Trivia Night.  Since I didn't find out until after they game started that it was Trivia Night, I didn't get to participate, but it's all good.  It's not like I knew any of the answers anyways.

While you are thinking of what to do over the summer, I highly encourage you to go to some kind of game, baseball, softball, etc.  Just go out and have fun.

Until next time travelers, have fun and stay safe.

A Great Walk for a Great Cause!

Hey Travelers!

At first today, I had no clue what to write to you all.  I thought that this was going to be the worst post of all time.  Then I realized there are a lot of different things that people can call outings.  Do you call an outings going out and having fun, or do you call an outings just hanging out with your friends?

What if I told you that I am one of the people that consider it to be both?

Yesterday, April 20, 2013, I went to Kannapolis, NC and participated in a walk for a great organization.  I volunteer for WALK MS.  This was a great opportunity for community service, and there was a lot of people there willing to help not only walk but also volunteer.

If you decided to walk, you could either walk one mile or three miles.  Every person that decided to walk need to raise $125.00 to walk.  All of the benefits go to help out families that cannot pay for the surgeries that go along with MS.

Every one at the walk was extremely nice, because they were all there for a great cause.  There was some people who were there that had MS, some people were their because their knew someone that was affected by MS, and others were there just because it was a great cause.

I personally, found out that a friend of mine was diagnosed with it about a month ago.  Also, a cousin of mine has MS.  She is very strong and doesn't let it bother her as much as she can.  She is still very strong willed!

This blog was just to tell you that there are many great walks out there that are to help people.  I just wanted to spread the word about MS and this walk.  You can find walks that are closer to you by visiting the Walk MS website.  There are other walks like Relay For Life, March Of Dimes, etc.
